Thailand found a location for a new Integrated Resort

Thailand’s government is thinking about the possibility of adding land-based and online casinos in the country. If it does, they may have found the perfect location for the first property.

The Thai government committee reviews the possibility of a casino complex having a target. It is considered the Mae Sot district of Tak Province as suitable for establishing the first legal casino in the country.

Mae Sot is a district in western Thailand that shares a border with Myanmar to the west. It is notable as a trade hub for its substantial population of Burmese migrants and refugees. The town is part of Tak province and is the main gateway between Thailand and Myanmar.

One of the reasons the committee picked the Mae Sot district is because they believe the presence of a legal casino over there will reduce illegal gambling in the region.

A former member of parliament and one of the committee members took a trip to Mae Sot. Upon his return, he announced that according to the reports from the provincial governor, the district is on board the project to attract potential tourists.

But before any progress can be made, the government must address several concerns such as the ownership of the land, the potential for labor problems, and of course there will be a money issue related to tax. And the last concern is the barrier of public consent.
