England are in fine form heading into the tournamen. The national team is now fielding very promising youngsters and almost guaranteed goals by way of striker Harry Kane who is in his prime. The team is expected to perform very well in the World Cup and anything short of top-8 just might be a disappointment.

Another player to watch for is Manchester’s Raheem Sterling. In 2012, he made his debut for England against Sweden alongside another debutant, Leon Osman. The former Everton and England midfielder told Football Now he knew Sterling was destined for the top, even at the tender age of 17.

The fan support for Iran is expected to be among the highest in Qatar. Travelling fans can expect a slightly more forward-thinking team than the somewhat defensive outlet coached by Carlos Queiroz in the 2014 and 2018 editions of the World Cup.

Aside from the political implications match pitting against USA, the team is expected to deliver this tournament.

Team Preview: United States

The USA will get increasingly more money as the tournament approaches, as they were +700 as of June to win the group. For the most part, this isn’t the same team that missed the World Cup four years ago. They did what was required to play a meaningless match in the final qualifier and recent positive results against Mexico show where they’ve improved the last few years.

Team Preview: Wales

  • Method of Qualification: UEFA Second Round Path A
  • Date of Qualification: 5th June 2022
  • Confederation: UEFA
  • Last Appearance in World Cup: 1958

Wales are similar to England in that they aren’t going to score a ton of goals and will be hoping to hold opposing teams scoreless. They haven’t played in a World Cup since 1958 and they most recently put in a mediocre performance at Euro 2020. They scored three goals in four matches played in the Euros and were knocked out in the quarter-finals 4-0 against Denmark.
